ISELED and ILaS - Connectivity for Smart Embedded RGB LEDs to enable Software Defined Lighting

The established ISELED technology provides temperature compensated, color calibrated RGB LEDs, addressable and controllable via the 2 Mbps ISELED® communication bus. They are designed to be mounted on printed circuit board light strips to meet automotive EMC requirements.

The ILaS (ISELED light and Sensor) network provides deterministic cable connectivity to distributed lighting elements (light stips etc.), allowing centralized control of interior lighting with synchronized and homogenized light events for software defined lighting applications. The INLT220Q cable transceiver supports a segmented daisy-chain of ISELED Smart RGB LEDs as well as connecting simple sensors in the same network.

ISELED Smart RGB LED Driver & Controller

The INLC10AQ is a mixed signal LED driver and controller chip. The chip provides three independent constant current sinks, each controlled via PWM. Each device is individually addressable via a bidirectional, half-duplex, 2Mbps, CRC-protected serial bus. A proprietary bus protocol is used, optimized for this particular application.

LED chains can be built up by daisy-chaining several INLC10AQ devices or other ISELED products on printed circuit boards via the serial bus. Applications with short cable segments are supported when using appropirate filtering. The INLC10AQ device can also act as a converter of single ended to differential bus signals to directly interface with typical µC I/Os.

ILaS Cable Transceiver

The INLT220Q is a mixed signal transceiver for automotive Light and Sensor Networks. It establishes 2 Mbit/s, low latency daisy-chain connectivity, over several meters of simple, unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables. The device also supports ISELED® applications.
An ILaS® Network throughout a vehicle can consist of up 4079 individual addressable nodes. It is utilizing a packed switched communication protocol. A node can be an INLT220Q device configured as Branch Device or Client Devices such as ISELED smart LED or simple sensor subsystems connected via UTP cables.

The device offers high flexibility to build branched networks by providing 2 cable interfaces (ISP, ESP) and 1 interface for ISELED devices (CSP). Additional 3 GPIOs can control sensors like buttons and switches, as well as actuators like vibrating motors for haptic feedback.
The INLT220Q provides an integrated buck controller, which allows direct power supply from the battery.
An ADC is available for diagnostic functions, as well as an integrated temperature sensor. Additionally, the device contains an OTP memory where network addresses and user information can be stored.
